Just curious if anyone knows the origins of Hyson Green. Was it originally owned by someone named Hyson? Thanks.

Great blog - really interesting to read about the origins of the name Hyson Green. I am the blogger Granny Anne who posts about negative things to do with Nottingham at 'Nottingham is Crap'.

I live in Nottingham and care about the City. I post about the negative things in Nottingham as I want Nottingham to be even better than it is.

In my opinion there are too many people shouting about how other cities are worse tahn Nottingham. I don't care about other Cities, I just want our City to be as good as it can be.

I was interested to read about the history of Hyson Green, especially as it was on the route I took every day for the seven years I went to the Manning School!
We often used to do our shopping there and I spent many happy hours at the Grand cinema club on Saturday mornings!
It is good to read positive blogs from Nottingham as I was getting a plethora of tags from one Nottm woman who seems to spend her life looking for any bad publicity. (She must be from Derby or Leicester lol)
